Day Twenty Four - Surprises

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

It is absolutely FUN to take on a challenge and see where it leads you. These last 2 weeks have been very interesting. I have suffered in body, more ways than one. First, what I thought was a urine infection and then perhaps even prostate problems which all turned out to be a small kidney stone, dang little thing was pretty painful for such a small feller. Then I figure if I am going to get up on stage I ought to at least lose my tummy. So I go to the gym to work out. Now I am so sore I can hardly type.

Then I suffer in spirit, figuring that I am going to get my book in the Frankfurt Book Fair, I miss the deadline and when I want to get in a JV I am not ready for that either and miss that. Ok how much crap can a guy take??? I am a pretty positive guy but some days you would think, man I could use a break.

Well nice thought! On the Mastermind call tonight I was feeling pretty low and was left til the last and just thought "Great for all you guys!" Because the mastermind partners seemed to be doing good, and I'll just put up and shut up with all my seeming hurts, pains and failures, but at the last minute... A.J. (out mastermind moderator) shines through and gets me back on track!! He wouldn't let me back out and NOT do something with him on a JV!! Interesting Stuff...stay tuned for some exciting news as we work out the details. Persistence pays off!! Guaranteed!
See you tomorrow!

I cannot believe I missed a day....AGAIN! I was so focused on getting the book finished that I totally blew my Sunday's post off! Not much I can do about it now other than to start my 90 day consecutive count all over. It will teach me to be consistent. Oh well...

Day Twenty One - What Do You Think About?

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q
I went early to pick up my wife from work (she works at the movie theater which gets me in for free) and I went and saw The Simpson's Movie. Now I know many people don't like The Simpson's because they are vulgar and rude which was my initial reaction to them also. But over time as I was exposed to them from my kids watching them, I would notice the satire in it had many things that are true to life. Well I am not going to defend it here I just wanted to make an observation.

There is a scene where Marge is trying to get Homer to listen to her and she states to Homer that she knows his mind is easily distracted so she wants him to pay attention the best he can. In the meantime there is a view of what is going on inside Homer's head: A toy monkey banging cymbals together, but it even gets to a point when the monkey stops clanking the cymbals and points to Marge with a stern look, thus Homer pays attention.

Are we any different though? When we should be paying attention to something that is very important are we listening intently or do we have some monkey in our head? Here is even a more revealing question; What do you think about when you don't HAVE to think? Take some time to focus on your own thoughts and take note of where your thoughts naturally drift to. Our thoughts can either help us or hinder us in life. It really is worth the time to analyze how you think and see which monkeys occupy the front and center stage of your mind.

Write down all things and begin to notice what things cause you frustration and those things that actually do help you out. You might be surprised. Not long ago I awoke at 3 AM and being unable to go back to sleep I began to think about things. And one of the most common things I think about is COnCEPT Q, I examine all aspects of it and see if there is anything else that I can learn or angles that I have not considered. It does NOT surprise me to always find something new. I can continue to learn even after 20 years of COnCEPT Q in my brain.

When you occupy your mind with things of worth your life has no other choice than to elevate along with your thoughts. Let me give one example that I am sure the girls will like. Over the years, I have loved my wife Rosa, however I can say that some aspects of our relationship could have used improvement. They were Q1 in nature. Like for instance I would be quick to defend myself on occasion and in the heat of the moment say things that might hurt her which would even produce a 'hotter word war'. Once I began to control my responses and answer with love instead of defense our conversations became much more tolerable even in disagreeable times. For the past 8 or 9 months our conversations are very different and at least on my part I am school-boyish in love with my sweetheart! I cannot remember a time that I have ever been so in love with her, even when we first got married. It is a matter of the thoughts that you entertain in your mind. There is a chapter in There Is No Power In Chaos where I talk about building better relationships. It is worth reading. Thanks for your attention and you can now go back to whatever you were thinking about. Hasta mañana.

Day Twenty - Living with Irritations

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

First of all for those that follow this blog on a daily basis, I am better. It was a rough week but if that is what it took to end a month long urge to urinate then it was worth it. I would much rather put up one intense period of pain and have it over with than having little irritations over a long period of time.

Now please excuse me for those of you who don't really feel very Christian, but that little thought made me think of something that I feel is important, so I am going to talk about Christ, and if that makes you uncomfortable for today you can stop reading here. (And hope to see you tomorrow)

For those of you that have faith in Christ, here is an interesting analogy. My comment of putting up with a lot of pain for one intense period of time rather than having little irritations over a long period of time is EXACTLY what Christ chose to do. He chose to suffer intensely in the Garden of Gethsemane and on the cross and GET IT OVER with rather than putting up little irritations for eternity! How about you? Do you avoid the intense pain that can go along with repentance? Is it easier to put up with the small irritations of remorse, guilt, mental anguish in little but constant doses over a long period of time?

Yeah I know that repentance (or change, for those people that do not like a harsh word), I know it is a continual process. But do you really think that by putting it off for, let's say...for..ever, do you think that it will just go away? Ummm,...probably not. Yes you can bury the remorse, forget about the guilt and hide from the mental anguish by putting distance between you and God, but you cannot hide forever. Yes, yes... eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die (well hopefully 15,000 tomorrows from today)and all the hogwash that those religious fanatics rant about, it is just a way to CONTROL you, right?

Well maybe not. Focus on physical pain and suffering or just the opposite of indulgence and pleasure can put out of mind the needs of your spiritual self, at least for a little while. I am NOT going to convince ANYONE with this blog (or by any other means) that DOES NOT want to listen, that your spiritual health and satisfaction is just as important as your physical health and satisfaction. Ignoring your spiritual needs and suffering will NOT make it go away. You can grow accustomed to the little irritations but it WON'T go away.

Hey, there's my two cents for today. See you tomorrow.

Day Eighteen / Day Nineteen - The Flaw in the Armor

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

Ok I guess I found my weakness. There are two things that I can learn from this. One - Don't put off the posting until the last minute, because when you absolutely cannot get it done at the last minute, you miss the opportunity. Rosa swore that she was going to take my to the emergency room last night, but I didn't go cause I couldn't even get dressed because it hurt so bad. I am a bit better today, and am going to post early because I have pains that threaten more of the same.

Two- I must follow my own advise - Never, Never, Never give in. Ok I missed one day, so I will keep this up until I do a blog 90 days straight without missing.

In There Is No Power In Chaos I write about the importance of taking care of yourself physically. You might not realize it, but when you are suffering in body...ta heck with the spirit! The ONLY thing you desire is to get back to that state of neutrality, just simply not feeling bad.

So here is my flaw in the armor...just get a little stone in my kidney and I am not so strong. Can you believe that little tiny stones can break your greatest will? Oh well, gotta get back up and do it again. I will write later.

Day Sixteen - The Power of Small Stones

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

Make a commitment and keep it...no matter what. Some days my posts are not going to be as good as others, right now my mind is not as free to think and concentrate today as it is other days but if you make a commitment...keep it, that is part of success. In fact it is part of Quarter Three labeled Faith. This post is extremely difficult today because I have some extreme competition for my attention. I believe it is a kidney stone that is on its way out and I think the pain is winning over my ability to write. I just want to scream, cry, go lay down, quit the pain, stop writing...you name it, but this too will pass. So if you don't mind I leave you with this one thought...ouch! Just kidding. Sometimes I laugh not to cry. But really ... in life there will be things that distract us from what we want to accomplish, but no matter what it may be, do like Winston Churchill did and in one of his final speeches he stood at the podium, weak and frail, and grasped it firmly and said some of his most famous words, Never give in, Never, Never, Never.

So as I fight to pluck out a few words to keep my resolve of this 90-day blog, the only thing I can think of is...Even though small stones may bring me to my knees it is my desire and will that puts me back on my feet. Right now that sounds cheesy but it will suffice for today. And...I'LL BE BACK...

Today I have been finishing layout and editing some of the final chapters of the book. The printer wants it this week so that he can be sure that his part gets done on time. Ahhh, pressure, don't we love it? Well I don't know about you, but sometimes I feel I could do without it, then I realize that pressure at times is what causes us to get things done.

I could use some help though. I want to make this blog wider read and the book launch known to more people so if you like what you read please share it with a friend, or an enemy for that matter, in the long run if they will read the book it will do them both a world of good. See you on Monday!

Day Fourteen - Evil Vegetables

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

Today was beach day and even though Rosa and I went, it was cloudy and cool so no swimming or tanning. Boo. But we did talk, for a long time...and that was good.

I was in the grocery store later today picking up a few things and when I was in the vegetable department I observed a man get upset at his wife that had something to do with the tomatoes. It caught my attention so I watched a little more intently and could see that she was feeling quite bad at his little fit.

Did you ever watch the movie called A Perfect World with Kevin Costner in it? I remember where he gets very upset at the man who treats his young son bad to the point he was going to punish him for it. I thought it was only fair that Kevin's character stood up for the defense of the young boy who really was not at fault. NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO MISTREAT ANOTHER HUMAN BEING. Well today I felt similar when I saw the man and the way he treated his wife. I really did feel like slapping him on the back of his head and telling him to apologize to his wife. Then just two minutes later another man gets after his wife for some silly reason as well. I about grabbed the both of them by the nap of the neck and bonked their heads together. Either that or find out if there was something evil about the vegetables causing all husbands to mistreat their wives.

It makes me think how many people really DO live in Quarter One and how those characteristics run wild in our society. I am happy to about have There Is No Power In Chaos about done and I really DO see a need for its principles and easy-to-understand visuals to be taught in today's imperfect world.

Please keep this in mind: Each and every person deserves to be treated with respect REGARDLESS of what we may consider their sins to be. We all have our faults so let us NOT be the first to throw the injurious stone. That is a Q1 action that is in the quarter filled with chaos...and there is no power in chaos! We'll talk again tomorrow.

Day Thirteen - A 4 am Stroll Through The Past

First of all, Please keep your gift suggestions coming! (See yesterday's blog) There are some real good suggestions and I can see the possibility of offering them. The only problem I see is, since the survey is anonymous those people that want the gift they suggest may not get it and someone else who doesn't want it gets it. Isn't that like life though at times? We may want something with all our heart and someone else who really doesn't deserve it is the one who gets it? We need to work on a solution for that problem. I have an idea or two though for a super gift that may work, but then again it may back fire, we shall see.

Last night around 4 o'clock in the morning I was just lying in bed pondering the COnCEPT Q Model. (I know that sounds crazy, at 4 am I ought to be sleeping or up working, but hey I was just pondering, good time for it I guess.) I retraced its history and tried to think of a time when I did not have this idea in my mind. I revisited 1986 when I was blessed with inspiration. I sat down in my mind at the desk in the home where we lived in Waco, Texas. I revisited ideas and events that caused me to begin writing. I remembered my frustration of not understanding the model enough that it caused me to quit writing. I pondered my defects back in time and considered how I had improved and realized that it was COnCEPT Q that helped me stay on track. I compared my strengths and abilities of today's me with the novice of me twenty years ago. I am NOT perfect!! but I am happy with what saw and excited with what I can be in the next twenty years.

James Allen in his wonderful little book As A Man Thinketh writes, "Calmness of the mind is one of the beautiful jewels of wisdom. It is the result of long and patient effort in self-control. Its presence is an indication of ripened experience, and of a more than ordinary knowledge of the laws and operations of thought." As I took my 4 am stroll, I considered the strength and calmness that my mind experiences, even in the most difficult of times and I owe it to my constant journey toward Quarter Four. Oh no, please don't get me wrong. I do not feel that I have made it completely to Q4 and it still seems far off and will probably take the rest of my life to get there, but I do enjoy some of its benefits from the association of its characteristics.

James Allen continues to say "The strong, calm man is always loved and revered. He is like a shade-giving tree in a thirsty land, or a sheltering rock in a storm." I have remembered that phrase many years and that has been one of my desires and I still continue to grow my tree because it is yet a sapling and my ability to be a sheltering rock is still that of just a stone. (I might be a good shelter for a few ants :-)

You know, I liked my little stroll through time, and it only encourages me on to become better and I am so grateful to be the one that was entrusted with COnCEPT Q and am excited to share it with others. It has made all the difference to me. A friend and the moderator of a master mind group to which I belong wrote something that makes me feel the huge responsibility that rests on my shoulders and gives me the desire to carry on. He said, "I give sincere gratitude to Don for not holding back any longer on releasing "There is No Power in Chaos" to the world. It would have been a crime for him to keep this to himself one day longer." And who wants to be guilt of a crime?

I am anxious for the book to be done, printed and available. It is the weight of that crime that keeps me awake at night. See you tomorrow.

Day Twelve - In the Spirit of Giving

The number twelve reminds me of the song The Twelve Days of Christmas that goes something like this...On the first day of Christmas...da di da di da etc., you know the tune. But did you every actually DO the twelve days of gift giving? Me neither. Today I bought a plane ticket as a gift for my eldest daughter so she could attend the wedding of my youngest daughter this September. So guess I feel generous today and was thinking about giving gifts, and though this would be a great opportunity for me to do 12 days of gift giving for the launch of my new book.

Giving is a Q4 characteristic and it goes along with the concept of reciprocity which is a mutual or cooperative interchange of favors or privileges. So what I decided to do is the following:

Choose 12 random, non-consecutive days of which I will give gifts to the readers of this blog. It could be a free autographed copy of the book when it is out
on launch date. It could be other books, one of which is a surprise to be announced on launch day.
I am thinking that one lucky person I will be willing to fly to Spain and meet with me personally. (Just a thought)

But in order for this to work properly and fairly I need a lot of people to read the blog. So the 12 days will be unannounced from here until October 8th. It could happen any day between now and then. The will NOT be a great supply of gifts so it is first-come-first-served. You get there late and you lose out. So you have to read the blog to see what day the event happens.

We have some very cool website memberships available that several people will get a free membership as well. These sites will be very useful and personally profitable to be a member.

So stay tuned. This is going to be something special, guaranteed.

Don't let a gift day pass you by.

Last minute update:

Ok, ok I may be nuts, (and my wife is probably going to kill me for this...)but lets change this around. Forget the bonuses and gifts that I want to give, (well at least some of them) What do YOU want me to give? Take minute and fill out this 5 question survey and YOU TELL ME what you want! How's that?
Go here: YOU CHOOSE THE GIFTS! Now can it get better than that?

Day Eleven - A Secret of THE SECRET

There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

I don't believe in the Law of Attraction the way too many people are presenting it especially after the hit movie The Secret. It seems that everyone wants to jump on that bandwagon. As I watched the movie for the first time I was appalled, my jaw drops and I couldn't believe what I was hearing and more so what I was seeing. Oh yes it was very professionally done and with all the expert guru's backing it up who could doubt? So how can anyone go up against that? But do you notice how many of those gurus are doing a lot of back pedaling? Trying to rectify some of the things said in the movie? So why endorse something that you have to change your opinion later? In The Secret's way of thinking with just directed thought, all of a sudden 'poof' your desire appears. Or in many cases, think about the things you don't want and 'viola' you get that too. If I could just think my way to all of my goals without any effort on my part that would probably do more harm than good. Attracting our desires just by the thought of it would create a world of many more lazy people than already exist. It would actually create chaos.

So by writing my opposing view do I get banned, and booed, and criticized for not following the big crowd? Well I certainly hope there are enough smart people to realize how accomplishment really happens. More that that, If I were to follow the crowd...I would have to take everything that I have learned and written about for the last 20 plus years and throw it out the window! That means I just trash more than half of my life, if I include the study that I put into it before I received the inspiration that comprises COnCEPT Q.

John Masters, an Australian oil man said, "You have to recognize that every "out-front" maneuver is going to be lonely. But if you feel entirely comfortable, then you're not far enough ahead to do any good. That warm sense of everything going well is usually the body temperature at the center of the herd. Only if you're far enough ahead to be at risk do you have a chance for large rewards."

Writing my opposition to The Secret makes me feel a bit lonely except for the fact that there are one or two people that also oppose it, Kevin Hogan being one of them. Now you see, Kevin is also a person that had the opportunity to be one of the experts, but he turned it down because he WILL NOT compromise his integrity. Nor will I compromise my integrity. By the way, Kevin has written the foreword to my book There Is No Power In Chaos and he does state that, "Some of the concepts in the book are so new that you’ll have to read the chapters twice. But then, it starts to sink in and you really do find yourself reading one of the finest personal development books ever written."

For a very long time I have actively pursued the ideas that compose the COnCEPT Q Philosophy. After much thought and even more effort many of the pieces of the puzzle are coming together. Events are now happening that facilitate its reality, but that only comes after I have done my part. Oh yes, I believe that I am attracting those things that are necessary for its success, but not without my own trials of my faith in what I am doing. But hey!, that is a Q3 event! And what does that mean? It means as long as I continue to pursue my objectives, Quarter 4 (or the accomplishment) is just around the corner!

Oh by the way, since I was young I have never like to be in the middle of the crowd, I liked being out front. When I was 3, (yes three years old) I still can vividly remember being in the Gem County Kid's Parade, on my little red plastic motorcycle. And I was put in line to proceed with the parade. For whatever reason, I figured it was a race or I wanted to be out in front, so I pulled out of line and as fast as I could make my little legs push I started passing everyone. I was lucky that dad was running along beside next to the crowd on the side of the street, cause when I got to the point that the parade made a turn I would have kept going straight on out of town!
Who knows where I would have ended up.

My point is that you don't have to follow the crowd either and I can guarantee that I won't let you get off track either. There Is No Power In Chaos is a guide that WILL keep you on track without you waking up one day and finding out that a few miss guiding 'gurus' told you things that really got you nowhere.

Day Ten - A Process of Learning

Today I learned something very important, blog posts must be like a TV Series, they must be able to stand on their own like an individual episode, but have a common theme that runs throughout the entire blog. What I didn't realize is that very few people go to the beginning and read the entire blog from start to finish. So when I read this comment it actually made me go back and read my first blogs for fear that I did not explain this project well enough.

Today I received this message:

"I went to your blog and I must say that I am very confused.
What is the title of the book?
What faith are you talking about?
Is this blog the way to get people interested in your book?
It appeared to be only your personal journey, diary entries. So please clarify for me and I'd love to give more feedback to help you.
right now it doesn't make any sense to me, thank you..."

Looking at this response from the angle of the TV Series analogy; each episode must stand alone, then of course it is confusing without reading all the previous posts. Thanks! This little bit of feedback ALREADY helps me and makes me realize a couple of things:
First I think I will add the following to all posts -
There are 2 essential beginning posts to read to understand what this blog is about:
Prelude to 90-day Case History of Mr.Faith and
A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q
The first one is why I am writing this blog and the second one gives a bit of history of COnCEPT Q and its beginning.

Second, it is important to know that the underlying concept is actually a philosophy on how to make your day to day life better by eliminating the chaos you have in it. There Is No Power In Chaos is my new book that discusses this philosophy called COnCEPT Q. It is a philosophy that is integrally coherent, which means that it is logical and consistent in the agreement of all its parts and it is extensive in that it is far-reaching and comprehensive in the all of topics that it covers. I have spent many years simplifying its understanding and In this blog I attempt to take and dissect a topic that is completely misunderstood; faith. No, not faith as a particular religion, or as a belief but rather as a power that brings about accomplishment.

So when I say 'Faith' and a person turns away because he or she thinks religion, I simply say 'Man have you GOT a LOT to learn!!' My objective with this blog is to generate interest in the book which come out on October 8th. Hopefully this little entry today gives a bit more understanding what this blog is all about. If not, feel free to comment and I will answer as soon as I can. Unil tomorrow.

Day Nine - Persistence Pays Off in the End

I found this video that I can identify with so I decided to put it in today's post. Sometimes it may seem that I may be slow but I AM persistent. It has taken me twenty plus years to get the COnCEPT Q philosophy this far, so why should I quit now? I don't necessarily like thinking of myself as a snail but I think this video makes a good point. I have been around for this long without any major changes in my philosophy and expect to still be going strong for another twenty more years and that COnCEPT Q will be around long after I am gone. The Secret Flash in the Pans remind me of these 'fast bugs' and they will come and go just like snake-oil salesmen in years past, but it is the time-tested principles that will endure.

In this video called The Insect Race, it gives a comical view of what I consider can be 'The race of life'. At times we all seem in a hurry to win the race but it is the consistent and what may seem slow efforts that pay off in the end.

Enjoy the flick, :-) Until tomorrow.

Day Eight - Even Big Earthquakes Begin with Small Tremors

Patience is a virtue, but the waiting can be nerve racking! In the beginning of anything, even if it is huge in the end begins very small. I would love to see thousands and ten thousands of readers and have them all respond like Sister Beeley. That too, I suppose, will come in its own due time. Today being Sunday I went to church as usual. We have an average size congregation that always increases in the summer months due to visitors on vacation. I was president of the branch for about ten years so a lot of people still call me President Rekow. Frank and Pat Beeley are from England and they spend five or six weeks with us each year. They are a lovely couple, both of which play the piano and are quite welcome each year they come down as they add their talents to the congregation for short time they are here.

I have the opportunity to speak quite often, whether in just classroom setting, or the main speaker or sometimes a special evening where I will speak on a particular topic to a specific group of people. I like to speak, especially about COnCEPT Q. It has become part of me, it is how I think. It is how I am able to understand other people. Today the Beeleys said their goodbyes for this season and Pat made a comment to me that makes what I do worthwhile even if it is just for one person. She gives me hug and a big smile and tells me, "I just love to get a little dose of President Rekow every time I come." She claims that I can brighten her day and give her hope by teaching her more about the power of faith and how to use it in her life.

That is why I write just a little bit everyday. I made mention to her that I wished that I could share this information on a much larger scale, part of which I am doing with this blog, part of what is happening with the book launch, and she just responds to me, "Even big earthquakes begin with small tremors." Thanks Sister Beeley, it seems that this time you are the one encouraging me! Until tomorrow have wonderful Sunday!

Day Seven - Understanding COnCEPT Q

Today is beach day. So we went to the beach. On the way Rosa and I got into a discussion about finances (which hasn't always been the easiest for us.) Part of the indemnification pay for the injury I had I am investing in the printing of my book There Is No Power In Chaos.

Strong feelings of loss come up for her because of investments that I have made before that have "not gone so well." It is only natural those setbacks and the not quite making it experiences set the ceiling and give her the standard Q1 feeling of "you've tried before and it didn't work so why is this time going to be different?"

Me, on the other hand, I am willing to bang my head against the ceiling knowing that sooner of later I will break through. It is like the story of Darby and his uncle in that Napoleon Hill writes about in Think and Grow Rich, where they stop three feet from a very rich gold vein. At what point do I give in?

On the beach I asked her if I make the book a best seller will she read it? She says she already knows what is in the book, more or less... and it doesn't work.

I respond to her that, I know what is in the book also... more or less, (I continue to learn all the time)... and because I understand it, that is EXACTLY why I KNOW it is at work.

Anyone who tells you that all you gotta do is think and sooner or later what you think about will appear IS doing you a disservice beyond what you can imagine!

Accomplishment not only requires intelligent thought, planning and correct action but it will bring with it a test. If you cannot pass the test you don't get the reward. Simple yet as complicated as that. Oh yes, There Is No Power In Chaos will be a best seller. If not this time, it will be the next. And I will continue to pound the ceiling until I break through.

Hey, have a great day! And see you in the next post!!

Day Six - Time for Love

They say that there must be a time for everything, so my entry today is short because I must take time for love. Today is Rosa's birthday and I took her to lunch to be with her and this evening we went out with her brother and sister-in-law. There must be time for everything including spending time with those you love. I call it a stroll through Q4. Needs to be like this all the time.

I may add a bit to this tomorrow but my eyes grow heavy and my mind dull. It is time for a 5 hour snooze. And as I reread this the next day I think I will leave it as is and let you see that COnCEPT Q takes into account all aspects of life including love, and that is in Q4. The closer I approach it the more in love I find that I am with Rosa. She IS the love of my life! Hey! go read the next entry while I smooch with her for a while, :o .

Day Five - Thinking in Quarters

After 20 plus years of thinking, talking, teaching, contemplating, discovering new ideas about COnCEPT Q it is hard for me not to think in quarters. (In the association of characteristics that are separated into the different quarters.) This afternoon I called my oldest son to see how he was doing. He is doing a summer sales program where he is far from his permanent residence and even though he works hard at completing his goals, he was having a tough week and feeling a bit lonely. In supporting him as his dad and trying to give him a bit of motivation I talked to him about the characteristics that are in each of the quarters. This is really important because once you understand how characteristics are related it is easy to understand how other feelings and thoughts from Quarter 1 affect your attitude and bring you down to Q1. Quarter one is the most difficult quarter to live in but ironically it is the quarter that most people are in.

COnCEPT Q is basic mind management! Instead of having a bunch of mumble-jumble mixed up feeling creating a sensation of chaos, by identifying them and placing them where they belong it is easy to red flag a feeling when it shows up and know that if permitted to stay it will bring a multitude of other similar feelings.

That is what COnCEPT Q does. It gives basic understanding of how to manage thoughts and feelings. Over the years what may have made me angry 10 or 15 years ago has no power in my life today because I know that it is a Quarter 1 feeling and I will not permit that feeling to drag me in amongst chaos. As I stay strong and in control others also can feel the strength and want to know how I do it. It is easy: basic mind management. COnCEPT Q, and that is what this is all about simply because there is no power in chaos! ;-) Until tomorrow!!

Day Four - Power of Possession

Do you ever stop and think about certain rules in our society? They may not be right or even fair but they exist like them or not. One such rule is the one that states "He who has the gold makes the rules." Last October I had an accident where a careless forklift operator ran into my ankle with one of the hard rubber tires when I had my back to him. Luckily it didn't break any bones but it caused a hemorrhage which resulted in developing an excess of fibrosis tissue around the tendons. In March I had an operation to clean the fibrosis up from around the area of the injury. Basically it took about eight months, a ton of Doctor visits, rehabilitation and a scar that will not go away for a long time if ever.

Now of course there will be an insurance settlement of which I was negotiating today, but it makes me kind of upset that despite the pain and suffering I may go through and the many lost hours of work and at the very end the whole ordeal is treated very trivially. And what you should be able to receive as compensation goes up on the bartering table and you watch the insurance adjuster whittle away the figure you should receive. It is very frustrating but you soon see that the guy with the gold is making the rules.

And if you need or want the money quickly, you are obliged to live by those rules. If you want what is rightly yours you have to go to court, which of course there is no guarantee that the judge will rule in your favor, and it may take a year or more to get to that point. Well I think you can easily see that power is in the possession of who has the money.

Or is it? Can you see where my focus was? It was on me and receiving what I considered a just and fair amount of compensation. Was I willing to concede or did I feel that I must be compensated every last penny? Was the accident a blessing or a unlucky event that happened to 'poor me'? Sure I would like the insurance company to pay as much as possible because then what happens? I am the one then who has the gold and I make the rules, to a point. ;-) Actually, in exchange for a bit of pain and suffering I get a sum of money that I didn't have prior to this and now it is up to me how I employ that money. I can either spend it irresponsibly or wisely put it to work to generate more.

We all have events in life that can be looked at as unfortunate or a stroke of luck. Usually, the stroke of luck events are the ones that we consider "easy" and require no effort, and of course put shekels in our purse so that we can spend at our pleasure. Don't be fooled, Power IS in the possession, but not just of the monetary substance we call money, it is in your attitudes and the point of view that you take in this life. That is the REAL Power of Possession! See you tomorrow.

Day Three - Are You OnQ?

OnQ (änkyu) adj. 1.Being where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing at the time you are supposed to be doing it in the way it is supposed to be done. 2. Headed in Q4 direction.

Either you are moving forward or you are moving backward,
there is no fence sitting.

Before I get a bunch of comments or questions I will explain what the question means that is on the About Me picture to the left. If you cannot read it, just click on the photo and when it opens up click on "View full size" and it will open up in a new window. The question "Are you OnQ?" was written to remind myself of my own need to be doing what I am supposed to be doing headed in the right direction. The picture was taken by my photographer friend, Diego Espada and is very interesting itself. I put the two, the picture and the question together to always remind me to stay on track and keep going forward. I want you to take a close look at the picture and notice something about the expression. This is a mere coincidence rather than done this way on purpose. If you take a piece of paper and cover the right half you will see that the expression is much more serious. It is me demanding that I do what I know I must. It tells me to be wise and choose correct actions or face the consequences.

On the other half, you can see by covering the left side, that this expression is a bit more relaxed. It is my mercy face, willing to forgive, willing to laugh and to enjoy, willing to play and to have fun and to love. There are many sides to all of us and each aspect we must take the time to correctly develop. There Is No Power In Chaos gives a correct pattern to follow and a way to develop the multi facets of an individual's life. It helps you put order into your own world so there is no chaos in it. I am definitely looking forward to October 8th. I am excited to share these concepts with the rest of the world. If you find this interesting please share it with a friend. Thanks and have a great day!

Day Two - Defining Desires

Recently I sent an e-mail to one of my mentors of which he agreed to do a teleconference interview with me during this 90-day Case History, his only concern: to fill the lines with listeners. Our topic will be Desire, A Double-Edged Sword, How to Keep from Getting Side-tracked on What You Really Want To Do, Be or Have. This teleconference I can guarantee will be excellent simply because he always over-delivers. He gives more than you expect and as my mentor I cannot do any less than he so that is my objective also.

Today there is a HUGE bandwagon that is traveling around and I just cannot believe how many people are jumping on it no matter which path it travels or the direction in which it is headed. The label on the side is "Law of Attraction." It seems that once the Secret got out everybody became an expert on this law. Now I don't want to be critical about what is being said unless of course the claims are so absurd that they cause more harm than good.

I will not go into a big spill here and try to defend or try to defeat the principle as taught. I do want to emphasize though that the way it is being presented it does not have the long term benefit of society in mind. It is designed to make more people lazy and a non-industrious nation will fall sooner or later. No, I am NOT just ranting. Four influence experts evaluated the information that is being pushed by The Secret and, "see real and grave danger in this virus that is spreading through the English-speaking world...and they say, enough is enough."

Ok, so what is the alternative you ask? Well there will be many that won't like the answer because it is not easy and I am not supporting the philosophy that you can think your way to whatever it is that you want, not without effort. Thought requires planning and planning requires effort. Effort is essential in accomplishment. Blind effort though leads you down the wrong paths, so all efforts must be guided. That requires faith. Faith is a principle of action and faith precedes any form of achievement. In scripture we see 5 words that are just as valid today as they were 2000 years ago. Faith without works is dead. And this IS NOT something that is ONLY applicable to to spiritual stuff.

Accomplishment, achievement, attainment, completion, fulfillment, realization, or succeeding pick your own word, they all have something in common. There is a pattern which they all follow and that pattern is the same EVERY time. One of the first steps in this pattern is defining your desires. Know where you want to end up, because if you don't know ANY PLACE WILL DO until you get there.

My Desire for the next 90 days, (well 88 now) is to finish There Is No Power In Chaos, grow a crowd of people that are willing to learn the pattern of accomplishment, have a few fun and info-packed teleseminars along the way and make the book a best-seller on October 8th. Yup, its going to take a LOT of faith and effort to do it, and it CAN be done but I need help. So please stay tuned for tomorrow's post and in the mean time share this with a friend, please.

Day One - Getting Jolted out of Bed

In summer time it is harder for me to get up before it begins to get light because it gets light earlier. For a long time I have had this feeling that I must be already moving before daybreak. This morning at 6:15 it was already light and I suppose I can excuse myself, it being Sunday but I sure don't like the sun getting ahead of me because it is already hard enough to keep up.

As I think back to high school, (whooh! that has been a few years) I remember my older sister Deb come into the bedroom and flip on the light to wake me up. Perhaps that is why I like getting up before it is light. Ha ha. If that wasn't bad enough and I didn't get right out of bed she would stand at the foot of the bed and bang it with her knees making it shake violently. I sure am glad those days are over and generally I have no trouble now getting out of bed.

In There Is No Power In Chaos I put a lot of emphasis on the fact that much of our trouble and problems in life come from those things that we are not proficient in. Many times we feel that what we don't know cannot hurt us, but in reality it is those things that we are ignorant of or that we simply ignore that tend to hurt us the most. At times we would like to overlook certain things because of the negative connotation that goes along with it or perhaps simply for the fact that it is something that seems like it carries with it too much obligation. Faith is one of those words or subjects that is easier to ignore than it is to deal with. But that alone creates a big problem because it is by the power of faith that we accomplish all of our works.

I am Mr. Faith because I talk a lot about faith and understand a fair amount as well as doing my best to simplify it so that everyone can understand it without the feeling of wanting to abhor it or avoid it because it may seem complicated. What I won't do though is come in and flip on the light switch and bang the bottom of your bed trying to jolt you out of a state of slumber. This is day one, we've got 89 days left and I will do my best to gently enlighten your understanding to see faith in a new way.

Feel free to share this blog with anyone you know that could use a little faith to lighten a burden, or to gain a greater understanding of their inner power. Enjoy your Sunday and we'll see you tomorrow!

From the Mediterranean Coast

I write today from the sunny beach on the Costa Brava next to the Mediterranean sea. The water is still just a bit chilly until you get used to it but it is crystal clear and great to swim in. Yes, I know that I had to take my hand written text and type it in to this blog, but my feelings and my thoughts are when I was lying on the beach under my big umbrella. We only live 25 minutes away and my wife is kind enough to demand that I take her on Saturday mornings during the summer months. If she didn't make me come I might be tempted to just stay in front of the computer all day. It is good to be by the sea and in the sun. It feels good and recharges my batteries.

Today I needed to relax a little and get ready because tomorrow begins the 90-day case history. I feel a bit apprehensive and a little nervous but I suppose that is normal when you don't know the outcome of what lies ahead. During the next three months I have many things that I need a lot of energy to be able to complete them. This blog is one of my commitments so that I can develop a closer relationship to the future readers of my new book.

I also have a wedding to help get ready for. My youngest daughter is getting married. Yippee! I am excited for her. (But not so excited about my pocketbook ;-( That will require a bunch of effort to put on two receptions, one in the US and the other here in Spain. With the launch less than two weeks later it will be interesting for all of you to see if I survive ;-).

This afternoon I had a couple leadership meetings in Barcelona and two other short meetings as well so spent the last half of the day in meetings. One of the meetings, even though it was short, it was unexpected, and actually is a great prelude to the next 90 days. One of my investor /creditors who has already been very patient with me had some radical changes take place in his business /work which freed him up from his busy schedule and normal routine. As we finished talking and walked to our cars he began to offer some of his free hours during the week to help me with my projects. I stood there amazed yet knew that was the sort of thing that this case study is all about. The interesting thing is that just 20 minutes prior after coming out of meeting No. 3 I saw him in his office with two other gentlemen and waved goodbye to him and headed to the car. It was already 9 pm and I still had one hour drive. But as I stood in the parking lot and said goodbye to my other colleague I decided to go back upstairs and ask a simple question. What ensued was the offer which came at the very end. Those are the things during the next 90 days that I want to show can happen to you too. It is a matter of knowing how and persistence. Hey I am tired, I was up at 5:30 this morning and I didn't leave Barcelona until 9:45 pm. It took me an hour to get home and I still had to write this post, because I can't miss a day! Good night and see you tomorrow.

Do or Do Not. There Is No ...

Part of the reason for this blog is to give you my reader insight on how the COnCEPT Q model affects many aspects of a person's individual life and how it's understanding can actually help you to progress and change different aspects of those things that affect you everyday. In other words, how you can apply faith to your everyday living.

This case study takes me, Mr. Faith and allows you to see inside of my private life and how I actually try to practice what I preach. (I know, I know as Yoda says, "Do, or do not. There is no 'try.'" - add your own voice imitation here please.) Once you get to know me, you will see that I am a very laid back, non-high stress sort of person. I don't get stressed out very fast, even though I am subjected to situations that many people would not or could not handle I don't let it get to me, or at least that is what I thought. It seems that I have found my weak link. Over the last several weeks, I have had blood analysis and different tests to diagnose a problem that I have only recently become aware of. The doctor suspects that it is Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) which is not real serious, but can be uncomfortable when the large intestine swells and makes me feel bloated. It is more of a matter of watching what I eat and controlling the stress. That is what I meant by weak link. It seems that even though I don't get stressed mentally, my digestive system does, and since I am past my five year guarantee I can't take me into the shop and have it replaced under warrantee. Ha ha. :-)

No problem. If you keep this in mind, at a later date I will show you how the application of faith can apply to this also. For now I still want to give you a little information on how this case study will work. This case history will be a record of Mr. Faith's personal history and environment over the next 90 days for use in analysis, instructive illustration and future reference regarding COnCEPT Q. Hopefully, during the next three months we will gather a blog crowd of 10,000 people that will be willing to purchase the book, There Is No Power In Chaos, How To Be Empowered And Eliminate Chaos From Your Life on October 8th of this year. That will put Mr. Faith in the best-seller author status and potentially get me out of a compromise that I seem to not be able to fulfill as of today. More than once I have been told that I am cheating the public by not sharing the information that is contained in the book and other materials that I have written. I am not a perfect person, but do have the maladaptive pattern of perfectionism. In plain English, I want everything to be perfect before it goes out. So I will control myself and share what I have been privileged to know for over 20 years as the result of an inspiration back in 1986. Don't get me wrong, I do share this information in classes, lectures and talks but on a limited basis and not as fully as I could. So here we go. Little by little you will get to know what this is all about. And be part of something that will grow to very large proportions. That is my faith.

As these 90 days progress, to those people willing to commit to purchase a book, I will also offer special bonuses. And I am sure there are other friends of mine as well that will be willing to give of themselves too. Most of all, I just want to have a little fun, and teach the power of faith like it has never been taught before. I kind of feel guilty also in that I have had several people that have read a pre-press copy of the book, tell me that they have had to reread sections of the book just to grasp what I am saying. So with this I want to help prepare people's understanding for the book when it does hit the shelf. In fact, I hope that this first printing doesn't even hit the shelf, rather all 10,000 copies are shipped directly out to you my readers. And if this project gets really rocking and a rolling we can make that first order really short.

So if you like what you read, post a comment, ask a question, share it with a friend and thank you for that. I can guarantee you that it is not a bunch of rehashed material that is just packaged differently. Dr. Kevin Hogan says, "Some of the concepts in the book are so new that you’ll have to read the chapters twice. But then, it starts to sink in and you really do find yourself reading one of the finest personal development books ever written." Well, I'll let you decide for yourself. With this case study and a few other surprises, there will be a bunch of firsts, So I hope you enjoy it and I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

A Brief Description of COnCEPT Q

I want to just give you a few lines of information before I begin the 90-day study, which begins on July 8th until October 8th (the rectified launch date), I want to let you know what COnCEPT Q is, how it got started, what it stands for and how you can benefit from it. So to begin with I will give you the official description.

A Brief Description
COnCEPT Q philosophy holds that:
All like characteristics, traits, habits, similarities, behaviors, manners and conducts can be grouped together. And that by understanding the association of such characteristics a person can determine where change is needed, how action can be implemented and how accomplishment can be achieved in any area of life. This understanding is gained by teaching the process of accomplishment as a circle. The circle is then divided into quarters placing the different aspects of progression in its respective quarter.

Quarter One holds negativity, fear, doubts and countless other repressing traits that keep individuals from substantially progressing toward their own ideal lifestyle. Procrastination due to fear is commonplace. Inactivity and the love of ease are usually caused by ignorance of a better way and the maladaptive patterns of inertia. This lifestyle is always full of regret, grief and envy of what could have been.

In Quarter Two change is an essential element in order to alter, modify and transform a person’s needs and state of lack into abundance and a state of having, being and doing. Change though, is terrifying and represents a roadblock to many people. Education and knowledge is the means by which change becomes less frightening. Planning is a crucial component in this part of the process. Vacillation back into Quarter One is not only likely but also probable if certain steps are not taken to prevent it.

Quarter Three Action is the only means by which any achievement may come to be. But action cannot and must not be random and without cause. Specific achievement is accomplished by focused effort based on proper planning. Additional strength is found in mentored guidance helping the student progress under the tutelage of an expert.

Quarter Four Result is the ultimate reward for all prior efforts. Haphazard accomplishment or just getting there accidentally or by a stroke of luck is unnatural and nature will take you back to where you are most prepared for. Water seeks its own level. Unless you have diligently passed through the essentials of the other quarters, you will end up back to where you started before you “got lucky.”

COnCEPT Q is a vast resource for understanding. Once it is comprehended it can be applied to many things. It has become a source of reference for me personally to know if what another person teaches follows the pattern of accomplishment or if it lacks steps and if they are out of order. My own maladaptive pattern of perfectionism has kept me from sharing this information any sooner simply because of an internal incessant desire to seek perfection in the expression of this concept. Due to the enormity of application possibilities I have to conform in explaining its relevance to different topics in different volumes of work rather than just one large book.

In 1986 as a result of several years of study I received an inspiration that eventually was molded into what is now known as COnCEPT Q. The name is part of an acronym which means
Concept OnQ, a Coherent & Extensive Philosophy of Thought,
thus the C On C E P T Q.

The following is my description of what OnQ means:
OnQ (änkyu) adj. 1.Being where you are supposed to be, doing what you are supposed to be doing at the time you are supposed to be doing it in the way it is supposed to be done. 2. Headed in Q4 direction.

Either you are moving forward
or you are moving backward,
there is no fence sitting.

The entire concept is very complete. Even though I have simplified and continue to do so it is NOT a light read. It takes time to sink in.

This will give you something to think about for today, and we'll talk more about it tomorrow and the day after, and the day after that for about 90 days. If after that there is need for more...well I'll decide then.

Prelude to a 90-day case history of Mr. Faith

I suppose this is more for me than anyone else, just to prove that it will work. But let's not get ahead of ourselves, so, we will start from a point that any person can read from right here and have an idea what this project is all about.

My name is Donald Alan Rekow, the son of the late Donald Merl Rekow and Arlene Rekow Osborne. I go by Don-Alan as my author name and for this project and case history I am Mr. Faith. Why, you ask, are you called Mr. Faith? First of all, for over twenty years, my main study has been focused on the principle and power of faith. The study has not been what a person might think you would do and just open the scriptures and study all you could about the topic of faith. Sure, it has included that, but it has gone way beyond that and from it I have made some very unique discoveries and have uncovered many similarities of things both secular and religious. So the title Mr. Faith has to do with the knowledge and understanding I have gained about 'faith' as a subject

Part of the reason for this project is to test what I have written on myself and keep record of it in the form of a blog. It is also an informal way of giving many more details than I can put in the book that is the object of this case history. The book, There Is No Power In Chaos was set for release on August 8th, 2007. It has been pushed back for 2 months until October 8th.

Well I suppose there IS another aspect of all of this too. It is so that you my future reader can get to know me. And I will start off with a picture of me and Mr. Bean. Sometimes I am told that I am too serious or too philosophical. This shows that I can be silly at times too.

Mr. Bean & Mr. Faith

Well that is all for today. Oh by the way, for those of you in the US, Happy 4th of July! Tomorrow I will tell you a little more about COnCEPT Q and what it is. Until then, you have a GREAT day!!
